Actors' message to Syracuse students: Make good choices and work hard
Two actors came to town Thursday to offer Syracuse high school students some advice: make good life choices and work hard so you can do what you are passionate about.
Actress Terri Vaughn and her husband, former NFL-player-turned-actor Karon Riley, spoke to more than 30 students in the library at the Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central.
“You have to have a vision of what it is you want for yourself,” Vaughn said. “Never think that because you don’t grow up in the high-end of life you don’t deserve it. Do the work for it....Your life is in your hands.”
Vaughn, 42, who has appeared in TV shows and movies including “Friday,” “The Steve Harvey Show” and “Meet the Browns,” said she found in her career that hard work and the drive to succeed can pay off.
