Say Yes to Education Foundation ("Say Yes") is an exceptional
organization with a bold plan and big dreams for over 400 New York
City kindergarteners at five schools in Harlem. Say Yes has pledged
full scholarships for advanced education upon graduation from high
school.
Our good friend George Weiss founded Say Yes to Education in 1987
and is its lead financial sponsor. It has a proven track record
via its Hartford, Cambridge, and Philadelphia chapters, creating
partnerships with public schools and universities in each city to
provide support and services for students and their families. Most
recently, in New York “Say Yes” is partnering with Teachers
College, Columbia University and has been warmly endorsed by Chancellor
Joel I. Klein. George has committed over $20 million to this project.
Last year’s benefit raised over $1.8 million dollars for our
endowment and we hope to surpass that this year. This is the opportunity
of a lifetime for these children and an equally wonderful opportunity
for us to help them succeed.
Please R.S.V.P. "Yes!" |
